Het project De Kamers Amersfoort heeft de contractworld award 2010 gewonnen in de categorie "Education, Healthcare"! De contractworld award is een prestigieuze, internationale architectuurprijs (www.contractworld.com). Dit jaar koos een internationale jury (met o.a. Mels Crouwel, Hans Ibelings, Mathias Müller (em2n Zürich), Andreas Hild (hildundk, München) en Sabine Keggenhoff 12 winnende projecten in 4 categorieën uit 691 anonieme inzendingen.

Het project Le Medi heeft de Bouwkwaliteitsprijs 2009 ontvangen. De gemeente Rotterdam reikt de prijs jaarlijks uit voor het beste Rotterdamse woningbouwproject van het afgelopen jaar. Het project is ontworpen door Geurst & Schulze in samenwerking met Korteknie Stuhlmacher in opdracht van Com. Wonen, Era Contour en Woonbron. Uit het juryrapport: "De jury ervaart in Le Medi een geslaagd echt Rotterdams concept, waarbij mediterrane principes zijn gebruikt om een Nederlands bouwblok tot een warme en behaaglijke plek te maken met een grote sociale cohesie en fraaie afwerking."

Korteknie Stuhlmacher Architecten hebben opdracht gekregen voor de A.J.Schreuderschool in Rotterdam Zuid. Het gaat om een school voor bijzonder onderwijs (ZMLK) en een dubbele gymzaal.

Korteknie Stuhlmacher hebben de Open Oproep OO 1628 gewonnen (zie www.vlaams-bouwmeester.be) met hun ontwerpen voor twee basisscholen in de Vlaamse dorpen Lille en Herentals (Gemeenschapsonderwijs (go)). In beide scholen wordt lesgegeven volgens de pedagogische principes van Célestin Freinet.

Ons project voor het cultuurhuis De Kamers heeft de Houtarchitectuurprijs 2008 gewonnen (zie ook www.dekamers.nl).
De jury bestond uit: voorzitter rijksbouwmeester Liesbeth van de Pol, Universitair hoofddocent Jan-Willem van de Kuilen, TU Delft, faculteit Civiele Techniek, Tanja Buijs-Vitkova, (Architectenburo Ir. Rudy Uytenhaak te Amsterdam) en Kees de Vries, hoofdredacteur Het Houtblad. Als secretaris fungeerde Eric D. de Munck, teamleider houtpromotie en voorlichting Centrum Hout.

De jury was onder de indruk van de wijze waarop materiaal, dimensie, vorm en kleur op eenvoudige maar geraffineerde wijze samensmelten tot één geheel. Het ontwerp en uitvoering van dit drielaags utiliteitsgebouw zijn consistent en er is diepgaand nagedacht over duurzaamheid en levensduur; materiaalkeuze, aanpasbaarheid, prefabricage, mogelijkheid tot volledige demontage, verduurzaming en bescherming waar nodig. In dit project vormt hout een esthetische en constructieve eenheid. De combinatie van hout en installaties staan verder borg voor een gezond binnenklimaat. Het kleurgebruik binnen en buiten is sober, doch effectief en oogstrelend. De gebruiker wordt uitdrukkelijk uitgedaagd in het project te participeren, met als voorbeeld de kunstzinnige beschildering van de graffitiplint. De conclusie van de jury luidde dan ook: ‘Aan dit project klopt alles: een perfect staaltje van voorbeeldig houtgebruik’.

Ons plan 'Het rekkelijke huis' wint competitie Homeruskwartier Almere!
In November 2007 werd in Almere tijdens de manifestatie 'ik bouw mijn huis in Almere' ons plan 'Het rekkelijke huis' gepresenteerd, een plan voor ca 100 laagbouwwoningen en een appartementengebouw in het Homeruskwartier in Almere dat we in opdracht van de Alliantie Almere in samenwerking met Fred Feddes hebben ontwikkeld. Het plan won de competitie die door de toekomstige kopers werd beslist. In het najaar 2008 begint de bouw en ontstaat er een bijzonder plan waarvoor we een ruim keuzemenu voor de toekomstige bewoners hebben ontwikkeld. De kopers zelf bepalen het uiterlijk, de grootte en de indeling van hun woning. Voor meer informatie zie ook www.hetrekkelijkehuis.nl.

On january 16 the project De Kamers Amersfoort receives the Contractworld award 2010 in Hanover in the category "Education/Healthcare". The Contractworld Award is a prestigious international architecture price (www.contractworld.com). The project Le Medi won the annual Bouwkwaliteitsprijs 2009 (price for Building quality) of the municipality of Rotterdam. The project has been designed by Geurst & Schulze in collaboration with Korteknie Stuhlmacher, and commissioned by Com. Wonen, Era Contour and Woonbron. The jury praised the concept, its social amibition and merits and the beautifully crafted finishes.

the jury was impressed by the way material, proportions, form and colour melt together into one single whole in a simple but refined way. The design and the execution of this three-storey building are consistent and the architect carefully thought about sustainability and durability; about the choice of materials, about adaptability, prefabrication and the possibility of eventually being able to dismantle the building. The natural materials have only been protected where necessary. In the project timber constitutes an esthetic and structural entity. The combination of timber and the installations guarantees a healthy interior climate. The use of colour inside and outside is modest and sober, but still effective and appealing to the eye. The users are explicitly challenged to participate in the project, with the artistic paintings along the outdoor plinth as an example. The conclusion of the jury: this project displays an exemplary use of timber where everything fits.

Our scheme 'Het rekkelijke huis - the expandable house' wins competition Homeruskwartier Almere!
In November 2007 during the manifestation 'I build my house in Almere' our scheme 'Het rekkelijke huis- the expandable house' was presented, a scheme consisting of ca 100 low-rise houses and a block of appartements. We developed the scheme in collaboration with Fred Feddes, commissioned by De Alliantie Almere. The scheme won the competition that ultimately was decided by the future buyers of the dwellings. In autumn 2008 we plan to start building a remarkable neighbourhood consisting of many different houses that are composed by the inhabitants themselves.
